Using in correct way
 

1. Please connect power and cable , check if the light of 
    power is flash. The cable should be locked the emulator 
    and computer to prevent fail connection.

2. The machine has self- detection function, if fail, it can't 
    enter main the function menu, please check if the power 
    and cable is connected well.

3. Please select the device's number that you want to emulate 
    in "TYPE"

4. Download source file

5. Select "'Move data to wice" in "WICE"

6. If you are not sure the source loaded to WICE correct, 
    you can verify if the data in BUFFER is the same with 
    the emulator. If not, back to the step 5.

7. Connect the 32 Pin cable with the machine that you want 
    to emulate, please notice not reverse or shift( The WICE
    -4M/4MA emulate 27040 or WICE-8M/8MA emulate 27080, 
    you need connect the cables with A,B port of emulator at the 
    same time.

8. Turn on the power of the machine

9. If fail, please turn off the power, and indicate "Verify" in WICE's 
    software, if it displays Error, you need back to step 5 to re-load 
    the file again.
 

 Q & A

Q1：Why can't connect with ROM EMULATOR or the download data has problem?

A1：Because WICE use Print Port interface, the import quality of parallel port is different by computer. The PC maybe works with printer, the WICE is high speed travel and uses all the message of Print Port, so it might happen to fail connection. The solution: you can try to replace other port or add Printer Port card of ISA.

Q2：Why ROM emulator can't emulate?

A2：The situation is due to many reasons.

1. The fail connection happens on DIP SOCKET or adaptor converts DIP to
PLCC: This is because of the SOCKET replaced many times.

2. Error on device's pin : Please make sure if the PIN of 27 family is the same with 28F/29C/29F family (please refer to the Pin Diagram in the software).

3. The damage of 32 PIN DIP cable: After replacing cable times might result in the intranet damage of the cable.

4. Damage of WICE: Please check as following , load data to WICE, use EPROM programmer to select the same type and load the same data, connect the 32 PIN socket of WICE with the programmer's socket and press "Verify" (note: Not program or the WICE will be damage). If it displays ERROR, it means the emulator is damage.

5. The EPROM Socket on the plate: When the voltage is higher than 5V or lower than 0V, the protective function is operating and you can't emulate at this time.

6. Compatible problem: Maybe the DRIVE of BUS is too weak to push the standard BUFFER of WICE.

7. The speed of the device is higher than the specification of WICE.

Q3： What do damage to ROM EMULATOR?

A3： 1.the damage of WICE must result in the voltage higher than 5V or lower than
0V. The motherboard and machine almost use Flash IC and part of the IC is
programmed by higher voltage than 5V. Some motherboards connect this
Pin with high voltage to convenient saving data. If you plug the32 PIN
cable of the WICE in the motherboard or machine, it will do damage to
WICE right away. The solution is to jump the high voltage PIN by adding
on IC's PIN
SOCKET, either does the software.

2.If the WICE connects with other port not the Print port of PC, that might
result in damage.

3.The voltage specification of WICE-4MA/8MA is 5V 1A, the incorrect
voltage will do damage to WICE.

Q4：How to check is the emulator damage?

A4：Please load the data to the WICE, use the EPROM programmer to select the same type and load the same data, connect the 32 PIN socket of the WICE with the programmer's socket and press "Verify" (note: Not to program or the WICE will be damage). If it displays ERROR, it means the emulator is damage.

Q5：How to load the address except 0 from the BUFFER to the emulator?
A5：DOS version: Select "Move any block to wice" to import address in WICE's
menu.
WINDOWS version: Import address in "Start address" of WICE Control Box.

Q6：How should I set up to load the data from the EVEN or ODD address from the BUFFER to emulator?

A6：For the DOS version, you can select to set the port as EVEN or ODD address in the 16 BIT Even/Odd address of the parameter menu.

Q7：How to select the printer port address?

A7：For the DOS version, you can select "Select printer port" in Parameter to display all Printer Port.

Q8：How to use .BAT file?

A8：It will display the user's guide to use W4.EXE,W4/? For WICE-4M and
WICE4-4MA.  It will display the user's guide to use W8.EXE,W8/? For WICE-8M and WICE-8MA.  The .BAT file only can load Binary file.

Q9：How to use RESET, USER, FOLD?

A9：When use RESET, USER, FOLD, you need to place the 4 PIN hook socket on the emulator and hang the other side on the PIN of the target board.  For DOS version, select "change RESET/USER/HOLD output state" in WICE menu.
For WINDOWS version, change the condition of Hi, Lo or PLUS in RESET/USER/HOLD.

RESET: To execute State or Plus, It is to reset target board without turn off target
Board to save time.

USER, HOLD: This is different by the condition of USER target board.

Q10：How to emulate two devices by WICE-4MA/8Maat the same time?

A10：Please select one device's number in A of TYPE men, other steps are as STEP4 to STEP 9 (using in correct way). Then select the other device's number in S of TYPE menu, other steps are as STEP4 to STEP 9 (using in correct way).
